Here's part of a bio of Rabbi Ted Sanders taken from the back of his book Stories A Rabbi Should Never Tell (1987):

Rabbi Ted Sanders is the Director of the Jewish Chaplaincy Service for the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, and the only Jewish Chaplain for the 28 prisons of the Texas Departmen of Corrections.

He is considered an expert on grief therapy, bio-ethics, and the dangers of burnout among those working in life and death situations. He lectures extensively to graduate students, ICU and emergency room personnel, as well as doctors, nurses, and lay people involved with terminally ill patients.

A native of McKeesport Pennsylvania, Rabbi Sanders is married to the former Janet Kushner, and is the father of one daughter and three sons, as well as a stepdaughter, stepson, and grandson.
